Berber Carpets and textiles from Morocco

NOMADNO by Alexandra Sachs is a showroom specializing in vintage Moroccan rugs and textiles. Our main focus is on unique weavings originating in rural areas made exclusively for domestic use, dating from the beginning of the 20th century to the present. Driven by our interest in provenance, craftsmanship and the creativity of the weavers, we seek out pieces with history and character in the hope of connecting them with someone who recognizes their special qualities.

Online Collection and showroom near Zurich

Our inventory features pile rugs, kilims and textiles from different groups and regions throughout Morocco. These include pieces from the better known Beni Ouarain and Beni Mguild confederations, as well as from the Azilal Province in the High Atlas, the Boujad and Rehamna region in central Morocco, and lesser known groups and regions. All items can be purchased via email and shipped internationally. Some of our favorite weavings, now sold, can be found in our archive of Berber rugs and textiles.

NOMADNO first opened its doors in Brooklyn, New York in 2013 and moved to Switzerland in 2020. The showroom is located in a landmarked former factory building by Lake Zurich, in Uetikon am See, open on Saturdays from 11am to 5pm or by appointment.
