The Beni Alaham do not belong to the Beni Ouarain confederation. The small tribe is settled south of the Beni Ouarain, flanked by the Ait Youb, the Marmoucha and the Ait Seghrouchéne. Typical characteristics of the Beni Alaham are S-spun warps, a denser structure and austere patterns framed by striped flat weave bands on both ends. Their minimalist compositions are mostly knotted of charcoal wool on an ivory ground and feature a fine surface. Some designs also include red, which is usually dyed with azo dye.
