EASTERN PILE RUG N° 502ABI

An eastern Moroccan rug, 1990s-2000s, with an informal drawing-like pattern found in a small village near Talsint. The composition is characterized by a carefree interpretation of a lozenge network, knotted in charcoal and orange, highlighted against a light background with a subtle color variation in natural shades of wool. It is thick, densely woven and knotted with rather coarsely processed wool. A somewhat archaic piece, but quite charming.
